Police throughout the county are honored for their service and accomplishments.

Distinguished service award 2022
Captain Jonathan Hall received the 38th Annual Distinguished Service Award for 2022. Captain Hall (Center Township Police Department) was chosen by previous award recipients, and Chief County Detective Andrew Gall presented the award to him. Captain Hall began his carrier as a full-time police officer with the Center Township Police Department in 1998. He was later promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2009 and appointed to the rank of Police Captain in 2015. Captain Hall is the current Vice President of the Beaver Valley Chiefs of Police Association, and beginning in January, he will assume the position as President for the Chiefs Association. Captain Hall is also the Lead Certified Firearms instructor for the Beaver County Chiefs.






2022 AWARDS
Beaver County District Attorney David J. Lozier presented several awards to officers at the Beaver County Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial Service:
The Detective Howard W. Murray Award to Captain Timothy Higby, Beaver Falls Police Department, and Officer Michael McQuaide, Ambridge Borough Police Department.
The Sergeant Guy W. “Tippy” Tyler Award, School Resource Officer, to Officer Richard Jones, New Sewickley Township Police Department.
The Drug Enforcement Award to Sergeant Nicholas D’Arrigo, Aliquippa Police Department.

Police Retirees
Three police officer retirees were honored on May 20 at the annual memorial service: Lt. Brian Jameson (pictured) and Lt. David Kingston and Chief William T. Bruce (both not pictured). Chief John A. DeLuca, Jr., (Ambridge Borough Police Department and Beaver Valley Chiefs of Police President) presented Lt. Jameson with a plaque recognizing his service at the memorial service. Lt. Jameson retired from the Ambridge Borough Police Department after 22 years of service. Lt. Kingston retired after 37 years of service from the Ellwood City Police Department, and Chief Bruce retired after 34 years of service from Raccoon Township Police Department.
Accreditation
New Sewickley Township Police Department became the first police department in Beaver County to be fully accredited by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission. To be accredited, the department had to meet 140 standards and 100 sub-sections of those standards. The process took ten years to accomplish and emphasizes transparency and accountability. The formal accreditation was awarded on August 4 in Harrisburg.
